A Bit of History

Founded in 1929, in the great city of London, Faber & Faber is one of the world’s greatest publishing houses. Its list of authors includes thirteen Nobel Laureates and six Booker prizewinners. Faber & Faber is known to publish premier voices in fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama, with writers including T.S. Eliot, Ted Hughes, Harold Pinter, Sylvia Plath, William Golding, Samuel Beckett, Seamus Heaney and Kazuo Ishiguro.

The Space

Whether you are looking for an inventive nook to get the creative juices flowing, a spacious loft for a conference, or a nice boardroom set-up for a strategy day, Faber Creative Spaces is the place for you. Located in the heart of Bloomsbury, these spaces are bright, airy, and most importantly flexible with the ability to transform any space into the perfect place to create, work, or meet.

Ariel and Lupercal Meeting Rooms

Host your next corporate meeting in the beautifully furnished Ariel and Lupercal meeting rooms. The rooms can comfortably seat up to 18 people at its large boardroom tables when necessary and has excellent technical facilities including WiFi, A/V equipment and HD projectors. The meeting rooms are clean and bright with plenty of natural light and modern fittings which, again, provide just the right atmosphere for any event.

Prufrock Meeting Room

The Prufrock meeting room is another flexible, clean-slate space that can comfortably fit between 15 and 20 people. It features large windows and attractively finished walls that provide a great working space for photographers and videographers. This particular room contains the richly inspiring atmosphere of Faber & Faber but is also simple, sleek, and business-like. Use it as you'd like, whether it be for studio space, creative meetings, workshops or even a private dinner.

Arcadia Meeting Room

Arcadia is a beautifully furnished and cosy space with a library-esque feel. It features an impressive period frieze mounted above the fireplace, soft seating, a table to work at and a luxury coffee machine. Arcadia has proven to be an ideal break-out space for the adjacent Prufrock meeting room. However, it is also suitable for high-end meetings, workshops and training sessions.

The Event Space

This room is a spacious, beautiful, and modern room that retains the character of the headquarters of one of a great publishing house. Able to fit up to 80 people, this space is perfect for larger gatherings including conferences, presentations, or corporate entertainment and away-days. Not only does it provide a clean, airy and focused atmosphere, it also features advanced audio-visual equipment including a projector, flatscreen TV, podium and conference mic, an in-built PA system, and even a Yamaha S6 7ft concert grand piano (available upon request).

Faber & Faber Famous Find: William Golding's Lord of The Flies. In 1954, after being rejected by nearly 20 publishers, the materials for the great novel were discovered by Charles Monteith of Faber. At the time it was called Strangers from Within, and after significant cuts and revisions, as well as a title change, the world received the great Lord of the Flies.
